Hoff Parquet supplied and installed elegant Select Grade European oak engineered wood flooring for a new-build residential project at 13 Cumberland Street Lane NW, Edinburgh, EH3 6RF.

Located in Edinburgh’s historic New Town, the property required a natural wood floor that would complement its contemporary architecture while introducing warmth, texture and timeless character. The client selected our beautiful “Royal White” finish—a refined, softly white-toned oak that creates a bright and understated interior.

Straight Forward Glue Down Installation

The flooring was manufactured from high-quality European oak in a clean Select Grade, chosen for its subtle grain, limited knots and consistent appearance. Its delicate white finish softens the natural golden tones of the oak without concealing the beauty of the timber.

The combination of wide 200mm boards and generous plank lengths creates a calm, continuous appearance, making the rooms feel more spacious and visually balanced.

Following an assessment of the new-build subfloor, our Edinburgh wood flooring fitters completed a straightforward glue-down installation. Each engineered oak plank was bonded directly to the prepared subfloor using a professional flexible wood flooring adhesive.

The glue-down method provides a firm and stable floor with reduced movement and a solid feeling underfoot. Careful setting out ensured that the long planks flowed naturally through the interior, while precise cutting and finishing produced clean details around walls, doorways and architectural features.

The completed Royal White oak flooring brings together Scandinavian-inspired simplicity, natural European oak and modern engineered construction. Its soft white tone reflects natural light beautifully and provides a versatile foundation for both contemporary and traditional furnishings.
